Image to layers: split one image into transparent layers

Layer split takes a finished picture and pulls its main elements apart: each object becomes its own transparent PNG, and the background behind them is filled in. Use it when you want to move, reuse or replace one part of an image instead of regenerating the whole thing.

What to prepare

What to prepare

Upload one image. A prompt is optional — leave it empty to separate the main elements automatically, or name what you want on its own layer, such as the text or a product.

What you get

You get a background layer plus up to 16 element layers, each a transparent PNG with its position in the original. Billing is per layer: credits for up to 17 layers are held at submit, and unused layers are refunded when it finishes.

How to use this scene

  1. 01

    Upload the image

Use the highest-quality version you have. Clear, separated objects split more cleanly than busy, overlapping scenes.

  2. 02

    Say what to separate (optional)

Leave the box empty for an automatic split, or name the elements you care about so they land on their own layers.

  3. 03

    Check and download the layers

Open the layer panel, toggle layers to see what each one holds, then download single PNGs or the whole set as a ZIP.

An input example to start from

Pull the headline off a poster

Put the headline text on its own layer and keep the product as a separate layer.

Upload a poster first. How many layers you get depends on the image; you only pay for the layers produced.

Questions about this scene

It depends on the image: a background plus up to 16 element layers. You are billed for the layers actually produced, and the difference from the amount held at submit is refunded.
