Applications for generation and editing

Choose a workflow by the material you have and the image you need. For edits, specify both what should change and what should remain.

  1. Product imagery

Explore product settings, lighting and arrangements for product displays and promotional concepts.

  2. Posters and campaign graphics

Develop campaign imagery, headlines and supporting information for posters, banners and promotional graphics.

  3. Illustrations and storyboards

Turn scene descriptions into illustrations and storyboard frames to explore viewpoints, styles and character designs.

  4. Reference image editing

Revise objects, backgrounds or visual styles in existing images and compare alternative versions.

Settings and credit pricing

Resolution and quality are separate controls. The table shows the current charge for one image; the composer displays the total before submission.

GPT Image 2.5 prompting guide

Build your prompt around specific visual requirements. Combine these six example fragments to suit your task; set aspect ratio, resolution and quality in the creator.

  1. Define the subject and purpose

State where the image will be used, its subject and what it should show.

    Example wording

Create an e-commerce hero image for lime sparkling water: one upright can on a pale stone plinth, fully visible, with half a lime beside it.

  2. Specify composition, light and materials

Describe placement, viewpoint, lighting and surface textures rather than relying on abstract style words.

    Example wording

Place the can on the left with empty space at the upper right. Sunlight enters from the upper left. Small droplets cover the matte metal can against a pale sage background.

  3. Provide the exact text

Specify wording, position and hierarchy. Check spelling and legibility after generation.

    Example wording

The front label reads “LIME CLUB” in large type, “SPARKLING WATER” below in smaller type, and “330 ml” at the bottom. Add no other text.

  4. Assign each reference a role

Identify uploaded images by order and explain which supplies the subject, setting or palette.

    Example wording

Use image 1 for the can shape and label. Use image 2 only for background colors and lighting; exclude its products and text.

  5. Separate changes from details to preserve

List both explicitly when editing, then compare the result with the original.

    Example wording

Replace the background with a pale stone plinth and lime leaves. Preserve the can proportions, label wording and camera angle. Add no other products.

  6. Focus each revision on one change

Use the previous output as a reference and restate what should stay unchanged.

    Example wording

Reduce only the droplets on the can so the label is clearer. Preserve the product position, background color, wording and light direction.
